In 2003, Martin announced a Limited Edition guitar based on the D-18 that the actor Andy Griffith made famous on his TV show.

This model has a selected high bear claw spruce top and quilted mahogany back and sides.

While it has the standard D-18 neck profile (1-11/16 inch at the nut), it has the forward-shifted bracing of a D-18V.

I really liked this guitar, and among the several that I ordered for the store, I selected this one for myself, and set it aside in the store as "Not-for-Sale." Of course, I almost never play guitar these days (and own plenty), so now that we are closing out the Martin line, I thought to put it up for sale now.

Sure, it's a 2003, but it is unused, brand new, and still fully warrantable to whomever buys it.

	The solid Sitka spruce top has lots of spectacular "bear claw" markings. Note the clear pickguard--Griffith had removed the original pickguard from his.			The back and sides are figured mahogany--the neck is cedar.
	The peghead has a Brazilian rosewood overlayment with the old-style Martin decal.			The tuners are enclosed "butter beans."
	The inlay in the rosewood fingerboard is a simple MOP dot pattern. The fingerboard is 1-11/16 inches wide at the nut			In addition to the fingerboard's inlaid facsimile of Mr. Griffith's signature, he has signed the paper label inside.
	The back is made of gorgeous, quilted mahogany!			The binding is simulated shell.
	The sides are also made of quilted mahogany.
