Ramsey Amish 12-inch

Ramsey Amish This is a model that Mike makes exclusively for ZEPP Country Music, and is usually available only on special order. Mike had built a prototypical copy of a very simple and plain banjo, hence the moniker he used for it. When we first offered it for sale, it was an immediate hit, and he has since made quite a few of them for sale through this shop.

In essence, this model is a plainer "Standard," having a dark mahogany neck along with a black-painted pot with a rolled brass tone ring.

MP3 Sound File Hear an Amish , or, if you prefer, Video see and hear one (3.4mb).

Simple, yes. Plain, yes, but a truly great-sounding banjo, with a great price, too: $1095 includes a hardshell case. Out of stock

Ramsey Amish back The neck on this model is 3-piece mahogany, with a reddish stain.           Ramsey Amish fingerboard The scooped ebony fingerboard has a tiny MOP dot inlay pattern.
Ramsey Amish peghead The peghead shape is based on that of a Martin tenor guitar that Mike had in the shop!           Ramsey Amishtuners Mike has used 5-Star brand planetary tuners on the banjo in stock.
Ramsey Amish dowel stick The 12-inch, thin-rimmed maple pot has a rolled brass tone ring.           Ramsey Amish head The hefty rolled brass tone ring has a deep, plunky sound, which, along with its Renaissance brand head, makes for great OT tone!
Ramsey Amish heel The 12-inch maple pot has been painted black.           Ramsey Amish neck The mahogany neck usually has a reddish stain on this model, as does the one in stock which is shown.
