Ramsey Dobson Style 12-inch
This is a new Dobson-style banjo from Mike Ramsey, using not only Dobson aesthetics, but a Dobson-style tone ring.
This banjo has a big, smooth mid-range and a great plunky sound. It's bound to become a very popular model for Mike, and with good reason!
With a hardshell case, this beauty is only $1350 Temporarily Out of Stock

The neck on this banjo is 3-piece maple, with a reddish stain. Note the full, "Dobson-style" heel shape.

The scooped ebony fingerboard has a simple MOP dot inlay pattern, with a very tasteful sun at the 5th fret and neat star bursts at the 12th.
|
 |
The simple peghead shape is also characteristic of the "Dobson-style," and adds a touch of "tradition"!

Mike has used 5-Star brand planetary tuners on the banjo in stock.

The 12-inch maple pot has a "Dobson-style" doughnut tone ring, which is probably easier to see through the head! Note that mike has used non-plated brass brackets to pick up on the tone ring's golden hue.

That tone ring has a big, smooth sound, which, along with its Renaissance brand head makes for a super great sound.
