The unique headstock has a maple underlayment beneath the ebony overlay. A Christian motif has been inlaid, including a Latin cross, an open bible, a dove of peace, and three dogwood flowers.

The banjo has a Renaissance head at present--beneath that lies a tone ring from Arthur Hatfield. The bridge is also an Arthur Hatfield item.

This banjo is made of gorgeous claro walnut.

The bound, ebony fingerboard has a dogwood flower inlay pattern, with a "Lamp Unto My Feet" inlay at the 17th fret. There is some minor fret wear at the lower frets. Spikes have been installed at frets 6, 7, 8, and 9.

The two-piece walnut neck is highly figured, and has a few small scuffs from use. |

The walnut resonator has a few small dings, and has striking grain.
