1980s Fender Leo

Fender Leo Fender Leo When Fender bought the Salstom banjo company, they continued to build banjos here in the States for a few years, but sometime around 1981, they decided it would be more effective to have their banjos built in Japan, and they commissioned the "Leo."

Leos have a multi-ply pot with a cast flathead tone ring. The neck and resonator are made of mahogany.

This particular instrument is in great shape, having no significant scratches or dings--and only the slightest bit of fret wear!

Here on consignment for $795 w/ hardshell case.

Fender Leo top The mahogany resonator is in good shape.
Fender Leo finger board The rosewood fingerboard has a silvery inlay material.
Fender Leo peghead The peghead has a handsome inlay.           Fender Leo head This banjos still has the original, clear (Fender-branded) head on it, so you can see the cast tone ring at work (oh, boy!).
