2008 Lee Glen Rose Vintage
Chuck Lee makes a model using an Electric style tone ring (aka "Whyte Laydie"). For this particular banjo, he added a bracket band and used a blond wood, so this one really could be considered to be a "Whyte Laydie."
This particular banjo was Chuck's very first "Vintage" series Glen Rose, and it is in as-new condition, making it quite the collector's piece!
Furthermore, with its tone ring and set up, it is a great sounding and playing player's banjo, too!
"Used," but hardly played--literally like new--it has a "Bump" case, and is only $2200. This one will only grow in value! Sold

Chuck's distinctive peghead has a nice abalone and MOP rose inlay, as well as Chuck's signature, scalloped nut.
| |
The tuners are Pegheds brand, anodized aluminum, 4:1 planetaries masquerading as fiddle pegs!
The 3-piece, predominantly cherry neck has a very light color, enhancing the whole "Whyte Laydie" thing...

The scooped, ebony fingerboard has Chuck's offset dot position markers, as well as side marker dots. The Pegheds brand 5th string tuner is also a 4:1 geared, planetary tuner, despite its looking like a friction peg!

The nicely finished, 2-ply cherry pot has Chuck's proprietary metal bits, including closed-end bracket nuts.
It's currently set up with a Renaissance head and a No-Knot tailpiece.

True to the original (1901) Fairbanks Whyte Laydies, Chuck has used a brass bracket band on this instrument.

And, of course, as had the original Whyte Laydies, this one has an Electric style tone ring (this one is inverted), which happens to be my favorite banjo sound!
