ca. 1915 Orpheum Pot (12.25 inches) with Reproduction Neck
These old Rettenberg & Lange Orpheums are impossible to date, so they are invariably indicated as ca. 1915.
This one has a huge, 12.25 inch pot with a older, reproduction mahogany neck fitted.
It has that unique Orpheum sound and plays well; it's consigned here at $1150 with a gig bag.

The peghead uses the original overlay with its distinctive inlay pattern.
| |
The tuners have been replaced with functional, planetary tuners.
The mahogany neck has numerous capo dings. Note the planetary 5th string tuner.
| |
The rosewood fingerboard has a handsome traditional inlay pattern.
The pot has a typical Orpheum tone ring, i.e., a solid ring mounted up from the wooden rim on a series of pins.
It's currently set up with a skin head and a No-Knot tailpiece.
This is truly a player's instrument, and is a great banjo for the lover of that Orpheum sound!
